Provider

Description

TMS supports the operation of virtual providers within a single system.

The provider can use both shared resources and redefine some of the resources, for example: separate tariff plans, its own TV channels grid, etc.

Attributes

Display name:

The public name of the telecom operator may differ from the official one. Examples of use: operator selection list in the TMS Player, operator name in the TVIP S-Box interface.

Name:

The official name of the service provider.

Display in provider list:

The list of operators is available if more than one operator is included in the TMS, relevant for Smart TV and mobile applications.

Enabled:

The virtual provider can be switched off at any moment. If the virtial provider is switched off, all its subscribers are also considered to be switched off.

Devices per account limit:

If the field is empty, it is considered unlimited, otherwise, if the threshold on the account is exceeded, the subscriber will be asked to deactivate any devices from the list. The field can be overridden in the account properties.

Basic free tariff:

For switched off clients, this plan will be applied.

Hint

The free plan may be the list of mandatory channels imputed for broadcasting, as well as arbitrary channels (channel) with a requirement to pay for the service.

Client access mode:
  • Registration by login and password only. if the device token is lost, it requires to enter the login and password again. This mode requires the subscriber to save access credentials.

  • By account network or by login and password - the device will be authorized and registered with some account, if the device IP address is within the account subnet. Registration by login and password is possible in this mode.

  • By account network - the device will be authorized and registered with some account, if the device IP is within the account subnet range. Registration by login and password is not available in this mode.

  • Quick Bind - the device will be authorized and registered with some account, if the device unique identifier is already associated with the account, and the device cannot be unregistered.

  • Strict security with quick binding - combining quick binding and strict mode. If the device has lost its token, the system administrator will need to reset the registration in the admin panel (Update button).

Allow device subscriptions:

When the subscription option is enabled, the subscriber’s device(s) will override the plan, it’s not recommended to use. This option is left for compatibility with previous versions of the platform.

Flussonic auth enabled:

This mode has lost its relevance on modern versions of Flussonic.

Warning

The property is no longer relevant, will be removed in future releases.

Enable device roaming:

When the option is enabled, previously authorized provider devices will work on networks that are not defined in the provider settings. For example, cable metwork provider’s subscribers will be able to use the service on their mobile provider’s networks.

Allow to create new devices upon request:

Creates records about devices as anonymous client devices right after they connect to TMS for the first time (before you enter your username and password).

Use the channel logo in the EPG as image in TV guide if there are no pictures:

If you use an EPG source without images for a channel, and this option is enabled, the operator’s logo will be used as an image for each program in TV guide.

Authorization by smart token:

Enables trusted mode for tokens that are issued by this TMS instance. This mode will be removed in future releases, the default behavior will be the same as with this flag enabled.

Billing settings:

Warning

Experimental functionality of the operator’s Personal account inside the TV application. The visual interface and API can be changed.

Read more about integrating billing into client applications in the article about billing API.

Networks

Defines a list of networks of the service provider, the network is unique within the TMS, the rule of specificity applies - which means that the network with the shorter prefix has more priority than network with long prefix.

For example: operator A has network 10.0.0.0/8, operator B has network 10.10.0.0/16, in this case the request from the address 10.10.10.10 will be defined as a request for operator B.

Domains

Determine the list of provider domains, domains are unique within the TMS, the priority is higher than when determining by IP address.

Contracts

Information base of contracts with providers.
